A Trilogy of Hot Irish Actresses...

Right. So we've been barking on about how Irish actresses aint keeping up with their male counterparts in the global movie business for ages. But, when we spotted Alison Doody, Victoria Smurfit & Amy Huberman together at The Late Late Show last Friday night we suddenly realised that there are at least a few of our finest ladies succeeding out there on the silver screen...

Last Friday night's Late Late Show was a rather somber affair with an initial focus on the tragic and deeply sad death of Irish boxer Darren Sutherland with his father pouring his heart out to Ryan Tubridy and his family & friends in the audience. We still think it was too soon for the grief stricken Sutherland clan to be on National TV, but we suppose they wanted to set the record straight. Rest in peace Darren.

After that, Tubridy was given the task of lightening the mood following that rather intense discussion about the circumstances which lead to passing of the Olympic medal winning boxer. So, in stepped three hot babes from The Clinic: Alison Doody, Victoria Smurfit & Amy Huberman...

Now, not being big watchers of The Clinic we have no idea what storylines are involved in bringing three of our most successful actresses together on the small screen, but seeing as super sexy Alison Doody's now part of the cast, we'll defo be tuning in. Hubba. Hubba.

And in case you're not aware of Alison's work - she was a proper Hollywood leading lady about 20 years ago as a Bond-girl and also Indiana Jones' love interest in The Last Crusade... Alas, marriage and kids seemed to halt her pursuit of big movie roles for a spell. Perhaps now she’s got rid of the hubbie and the kids are grown up she'll give it another shot?

From Smurfit silver-spoon stock, Victoria Smurfit has been dogmatic in the pursuit of her acting career with prominent roles in UK TV dramas such as Cold Feet and Trial and Retribution. She's also landed big movies such as About A Boy and Bulletproof Monk. And it doesn't seem like marriage and kids are slowing her down at all, in fact, we think she's busier than ever...

And then there's the new-comer Amy Huberman who recently became the Nation's sweetheart after she got engaged to Brian O'Driscoll. Amy has been busy on the Irish small screen appearing in about 50 episodes of The Clinic. She also recently got a leading role in the internationally well-received Irish flick: A Film With Me In It... But will marriage and kids taper Amy's appetite for career success? We seriously hope not.
