Westlife Upstaged By Jedward...

What a fickle place the world of Pop is folks. After a mere year's sojourn the Westlife boys are back with new tunes and a new fragrance - yet some teenage girls seem to have moved-on from the manband. They turned-on Grafton Street's Christmas lights yesterday to rather comical chants of "Jedward". Oh. Dear...

Nicky, Mark, Shane & Kian are making a comeback after taking a year off from the erratic Pop charts. And not even a moment too soon as the music world has been turned on its head by another of Louis Walsh's creations: X Factor twins John & Edward Grimes.

And with 'Jedward' coincidentally in their native city filming bits for X Factor yesterday, rumour soon spilt into the national consciousness that they would be on-hand at the turning-on of the Grafton Street Xmas lights along with their mentor Louis Walsh and the Westlife boys.

Things weren't helped when cheeky chappie weatherman Martin King, comparing the event, joked that the Grimes twins may be around for the ceremony... Jedward hysteria soon ensued on Grafton Street and the normally free-flowing shopping district was brought to a complete standstill with thousands of teenagers vying to get a peek at Pop's Emperor's New Clothes.

And even with big names such as Westlife, Louis Walsh and EVEN Santa on stage last night - naughty Jedward fans up-and-down Grafton Street kept chanting for their new found big haired icons. Ooops... Alas, there was no sign of the Dublin lads outside Brown Thomas – luckily enough - as there may have been a crowd rush if the terrible twins showed their faces.

The Westlife boys were also in town yesterday to launch their debut scent 'X' at the Four Seasons Hotel... So run out get the fragrance now girls so peeps can get the bang of Westlife off ye!

So there you have it folks - Christmas is definitely on the way with the Grafton Street lights turn-on and newly endorsed perfumes stacking-up in the shops... Yo ho ho and all that.
