Michele's Back In The Industry...

You can't keep a good woman down, and in singer Michele McGrath's case, that goes double. After missing out on Louis Walsh's new girlband by the skin-of-her-teeth our Shelly is back, and has managed to get to the Pop market waaay before her former svengali mentor’s group with new boygirlband 'Industry'...

Donal Skehan, Lee Hutton, Morgan Deane, Michele McGrath (Industry)

We had high hopes for sultry Michele McGrath taking center stage with Jodi Albert in Louis Walsh & Kian Egan's new band (we hear that they may be called 'Wallflower'?). But sadly, it was not to be for the raven haired beauty, she didn't make the final five cut and was sent back to her photocall career modelling with Assets. Awwww.

Donal Skehan, Morgan Deane, Michele McGrath, Lee Hutton (Industry)

But faster than you can say Louis-Lost-A-Lovely-Lady, Michele hooked-up with former Bubble Hits boss James Hyland and the Pop band 'Industry' was born. And no waiting around either - their first single 'My Baby's Waiting' hits the charts next month. Busy bees.

James Hyland

We caught up with Michele and her three hot band mates - Donal Skehan, Lee Hutton and Morgan Deane - at The Sugar Club last week when this sleek new Poptastic act were unveiled to the press. They even played a number of tracks live. Yes folks, we said LIVE. With a full backing band too...

Emma O'Driscoll, Liam McKenna

A number of well known faces from the fame industry turned-up to see Industry as did industry journalists and a number of powerful people from the music industry. Wow, all this Industry referencing is getting kinda industrious. Ahem.

Julian Benson, Linda Martin

Guests at the showcase included: Julian Benson, Linda Martin, Emma O'Driscoll, Liam McKenna, Sinead Watters, Nikki Hayes, Mark McGrath, Jenny McGrath, Layla Ahmed, Alan Hughes, and a certain Chris Newman who seems to be the current apple of Michele McGrath's eye... We'll say no more there...

Chris Newman

Industry's debut single, 'My Baby's Waiting' is produced by Stockholm-based Ten and will be released in Ireland and the UK in June... It's just good old honest to goodness Pop folks and the high production glossy video is certainly worth checking out...

Sinead Watters, Nikki Hayes

We have high hopes for this new Irish offering and wish Michele, James and the rest of Industry best of luck with this new venture. The thought of them going-up against Louis' wee Wallflowers in the charts is a tantalizing concept... It will be like Blur versus Oasis all over again!

Mark McGrath, Jenny McGrath, Layla Ahmed

My Baby's Waiting is released on the 19th of June...

Donal Skehan, Lee Hutton, Morgan Deane, Michele McGrath (Industry)

Aoife D and Lou,

Yes, that valium comment was so original, so hugely witty, that it warranted repetition. Congrats, you two should try stand-up. You haven't said anything about the substance of what I've said, just made assumptions that I am "bitter" or a "minger" (unwarranted assumptions, which you wouldn't make about my male friends who think the same as I do). I've only had to repeat my point because so many retards on here have misinterpreted it, "OH MY GOD, WHAT YOU'RE SAYING WILL CAUSE ANOREXIA!!" For the love of Jesus.

Aoife D – Dublin
May 28, 2009 - 19:54

Aoife, I can't believe your still here ranting and raving about Irish models. I totally agree with lou. haha. Anyone have any spare valium that we can pass onto Aoife?

Also Aoife you have made your "point" a few times so you can run along now, go about your business.

lou – dub
May 26, 2009 - 13:15

anyone have some valium for this chick Aoife? Shound settle the bitterness and rage issues.

Aoife – Dublin
May 26, 2009 - 11:19

[Part 2]... The Irish "models" I've come across swan around like they've just stepped off a Victoria's Secret catwalk, have a ridiculously large and constantly updated "portfolio" of professional photos which they make sure to include on all available networking sites for mere mortal friends to admire, and introduce themselves as "models" even if they spend one hour a week in a bikini and 40 behind a reception.

Aoife – Dublin
May 26, 2009 - 11:17

[Part 1] Saying "you must be a minger" is a great way to avoid the point I'm making. I did not say Michele was fat - if she's fat, so am I. The point is that she is average, average height, average weight, as are most Irish models. That's all very well as long as the Irish "models" realise that they are just that - average, in every way, and distinguishable from the great majority of the general population of females only by their egos.

lou – dub
May 24, 2009 - 20:06

Fair play to Irish models- it takes b*lls to do what they do! god love ya Aoife, you're obviously a minger.

Aoife D – Dublin
May 23, 2009 - 19:38

I totally agree with u missy!! Go Irish models! :) x

missy – dublin
May 23, 2009 - 01:10

fair play if u dont have to be a size zero in ireland to be a model.thats a way beter example to be seting for young girls than 6" girls who weigh 5 stone!your saying girls who are sizes 8-10 are fat and then u wonder why so many girls have anerexia.. shes a thin girl..and my making out that shes fat when she clearly isnt is why so many girls die every year from eating disorders. fair enough irish models dont look like they do in any other countries.. but at least they are setting better examples and dont look like they could die any second.. i say fair play to the irish model scene!!!

commentator – showbiz.ie
May 22, 2009 - 21:03

There is no way that the dolly birds in a bikini holding an inflatable banana or whatever on Grafton St get paid 500 euro for doing each shoot. No way jose. Most of these girls get about 10 grand a year and still live with their mums.

Bryan O'Reilly – Dublin
May 22, 2009 - 15:11

head the single. it rocks. or more like it pop's hahaha. seriously good work. every1 looks hot. michele will you marry me??????????????????

I pride my self on picking hits when i hear them, and this is gonna be massive. but more importantly voices are unreal, i think its a good sign for their future. well done guys. wish u the best. i think im looking at a band thats gonna be bigger than westlife.

May 22, 2009 - 11:29

Lou - bikinis on the beach, sure - but there's a distinction, I get naked in the bath, but not in the newspapers. I'm no more jealous of Irish "models" than I am of Jodie Marsh.

Aoife D - you are clearly retarded. You simply cannot read if you say I have "wannabe model features". Learn how to read and process information, it will serve you well.

Lovely – Dublin
May 22, 2009 - 11:18

Would you guys all relax! If a girl can make €500 for an hours work on Grafton St. - well done to her!! Thats what an average person brings home after a 36 hr week! Give up with the B!tching - Its so sad!! Who cares ?!

Best of luck to the band - they sound great & look amazing!! xx

Jane I – Clontarf
May 22, 2009 - 09:38

heard the song My Baby's waiting on FM104 this morn Fri ,its gonna be massive hit .Cant wait til its in shops

Aoife D – Dublin
May 22, 2009 - 03:49

Aoife - shut upa ur face!!! go away. this site doesnt need u and ur comments or ur "curvy" wannabe model features that u think shud get paid a milllion yoyos for wearing a bikini!! laterss xxx

Gud luck to Industry!! xxxx

lou – dub
May 21, 2009 - 23:58

By the way, fair play to the band. Michelle is an extremely talented and beautiful girl, both on the inside and out. Anyone who has met her in person will know this. She is striking! Keep up the good work, best of luck with the band and never mind the haters- it comes with the territory xxx

lou – dub
May 21, 2009 - 23:52

Aoife 'if I were going to lose my dignity by displaying my wares in a bikini to all and sundry, I would need to be paid a damn sight more than a few hundred euro'. So I take it you wear a jump suit when hitting the beach then? Your self dignity must not be too high if you'd lose it getting in a bikini.

angelina – donnycarney
May 21, 2009 - 20:11

oracle av u came off ur high hors yet cos its a long way dwn the sorrii road as u will eat ur wurds about dis band heard the song on lmfm las nii was singi9ng it all nigh!!
brill

meg – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 17:42

Oracle - so Michelle is in a band with 3 people who nobody has heard of ??? Soooooo before other well known bands made it ...who heard of there members ??not the brightest are you?? leave them alone ... Industry I wish ye welll !!

Aoife – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 17:04

Aoife D, try actually reading my post. I could be a model in Ire if I wanted to - so could at least 75% of Dublin females aged 16-25 with the right grooming and level of vanity. However, I would feel like a tit calling myself a model when I'm short and curvy (and when all I would do would be cheesy bikini promotions, no actual modelling). And if I were to demean myself in public like that it would be for a hell of a lot more money.

Aoife D – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 14:59

Aoife if Michele is as u say "short and curvy" and she is a model, then u should not have a problem becoming one. that is only if u look good enough! I think its really sad that people are already slating this band, give them and their music a chance first instead of picking at their looks. I feel bad for Michele, like who are any of YOU's to slag off her like! Jealously will get ya no-where girls..

and Oracle what are u even doing on this site if u have no interest in the people that are on it?! Sad wannabe!! haha

Aoife – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 12:02

[Part 2]...Many are not thin, many are plain unattractive (usually the ones with the largest portfolios, because as everyone knows, the more professional photos you get taken of yourself, the more attractive you become).

As far as I can see the only real difference between a group of Assets models (with a few exceptions) and the average group of well-groomed Dublin girls is the size of their egos.

In any case, if I were going to lose my dignity by displaying my wares in a bikini to all and sundry, I would need to be paid a damn sight more than a few hundred euro.

Aoife – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 12:00

[Part 1] Aoife D - I haven't become a model in Ireland because I'm short&curvy. I've no problem with this, but it means I am by definition not model material. I would feel like an absolute tit describing myself as a model, it would be like a dyslexic person calling themselves a professional proofreader.

Assets adds an inch to everyone, which makes a large proportion of their "models" 5 foot 6 and under, when the industry minimum is 5 8 or 5 9. ...

Majella H – Dundalk
May 21, 2009 - 10:56

Mieow mieow ;1 saucer of milk for Oracle please !

Irene – Donegal
May 21, 2009 - 09:49

Oracle - can i remind you of another irish singer Nadine Coyle
who missed out on Popstars Six - lucky she didnt make it into 6 because she went onto greater things in Girls Aloud -
look at her today !!!!
So it will be the same with Michelle
can anyone remember the song that "Wallflower" sang on Late Late
Nope ....neither can i -but i have been hummin My Babys Waiting
since i heard it .

Jessica
May 21, 2009 - 09:15

Ha. I agree with you Oracle. Just telling it like it ACTUALLY is and stop with all the JEALOUSY claims!!! They havent acheived anything yet, whats to be jealous of??!

Anne Marie – Cork
May 21, 2009 - 01:16

oracle

Oh My God

You are such a sweet individual (NOT) get over the Green Eyed Monster girl !!! Typical Dub begruding your own Give it Up!!!AND GET A LIFE !!! I dont even know that girl u are slagging off but can only imagine that its one of your own ....What the hell are u doing ..You sound like a nasty piece of work and now I reeally hope they make it big just to hit your raw nerve girly!!!

oracle – Dublin
May 21, 2009 - 00:42

Let's look at Michelle McGrath.
Modelling-too short and curvy to make it.
Hostess-a glorified bargirl working at Cocoon which went out of business.
Singer-couldn't make Louis Walsh's misfit band as she wasn't good enough and now joins an inferior outfit with two guys who look like they belong at The George on bingo night and a girl who nobody ever heard of.

This band has success written all over it as long as they stay on this site, which apart from a select few who are actually talented and have accomplished stuff, is full of nobodys!

Anne Marie – Cork
May 21, 2009 - 00:11

I agree with the comments below ...this band looks so hot the girls are stunning and the guys are Studmuffins yum yum ..want more lol.....Go Industry and Ireland please support and stop knocking our own talent ...They deserve our support..

Naomi – Dublin
May 20, 2009 - 23:28

Heard their new song and love it! Any1 know when they'll have more songs out? Very stylish talented group.

Lorraine – Dublin
May 20, 2009 - 22:27

Oh, hello to all the jealous LOSERS out there... FFS - saying Michele is small and curvy as if that's a bad thing????? Get a life. That girl is beautiful. I for one hope they do really well with this single. What the hell is wrong with some people?? Only happy when they're slating someone else... Seriously....

Aoife D – Dublin
May 20, 2009 - 22:08

God I cant believe the haters on this thing! How jealous can u guys be! Michele is a hard worker and she has done a lot to get where she is so give her a break! and as for u Aoife how can you even say that Susan Boyle could be a model in Ireland?! U idiot! Jealousy will get you no where missus!! We dont have tall lanky models in Ireland because they dont really exist! If its that easy to be a model in Ireland why dont u become one! haha :) I am loving Industry and Im sure they will do really well! Lotsa loven to Industry and good luck xxx

Anne Marie – Cork
May 20, 2009 - 21:06

Wish this band all the luck in the world .....About Time for a bit of GLam & Talent to come out of Ireland and to do it themselves...Good Luck Guys and hope Ireland supports you !!!! God knows we should and stopping knocking our own ...

Aoife – Dublin
May 20, 2009 - 19:06

Judging by the level of sycophancy in so many of these comments I can only assume Industry's mammies have come on here with all their mates...

As for Michelle - sure, she's not fat and she looks fine, but she is short and curvy, and in any other country to be a model you need to be tall and skinny. It's like Ireland is doing things backwards. Susan Boyle could be a model over here.
