But seeing as some mental lunatic decided to put The Meteor Awards on the very same cherished day, we were kinda rushed off our wee little green booties. This year saw a pared-down St Patrick's Day parade in our Capital as the recession-mongers decided it would be too in-yer-face to go over the top spending with all the people out there losing their jobs at present. Proper order too...

2009 was the year the sun really came out for Paddy's festivities, something that no amount of money can buy. So it was a cheerier and more pleasant day than usual. Don't know if the quainter parade had anything to do with it, but there was a more tranquil atmosphere out on the streets, well, before the sun went down and the madness really began.
