Twink Flaps the Bingo Wings at AMI 2008... Ireland's favourite ShowBiz Mammy, Twink, was in her element amongst the travesty to taste and decency that was The Alternative Miss Ireland finals this weekend. What do they call a middle aged straight woman that hangs out on the gay scene? Hmmmm... Twink Once again Dublin has been crowned the Gay & Lesbian capital of Europe with another hugely successful A.M.I. beauty pageant. And it all took place in The Olympia Theatre on Sunday night to raise money for Irish HIV/AIDS organisations. Move over Andrea Roche. Twink And on a weekend that saw much debate about Lisa Murphy and her Drag Queen status, it was great to see another Queen - Twink - in the audience as an honorary guest. She's officially a Gay icon folks. Gavin Friday And speaking of icons we also spotted singer Gavin Friday lurking in a box with some fine gentlemen dressed in a manner which can be best described as 'Denis the Menace Chic'. Slingshots and Beano comics baby. Francis Winston, James Brown, unknown, Miss Pussy, Eugene Masterson Other familiar faces enjoying all the tongue-in-cheek high jinks in the Olympia included Alan Hughes, ShowBiz hack Eugene Masterson, Francis Winston, James Brown and a few others... Winner Alternative Miss Ireland 2008 - Miss Sheila Fitz Patrick Now we're not going to get into all the naughty shenanigans on the Olympia stage on Sunday night. What goes on stage at the A.M.I. finals, stays on stage at the A.M.I. finals! But the winner on the night was none other than Miss Sheila Fitz Patrick. Well done Sheila, ya big ride. Runner Up - Miss Gazza Strip & Genoa Summit Runner up winner of Alternative Miss Ireland 2008 was Miss Gazza Strip and Genoa Summit. Miss Bunny Winner of the 'Miss Poise' crown went to Miss Bunny. She worked it baby. Miss Fabeline Winner of 'Miss Personality' went to Miss Fabeline and her little chubby friend. Miss BJ Cumikazee Winner of 'Miss Originality' went to Miss BJ Cumikazee. Miss Panti Rather than waffle on about all the A.M.I. goings on the other the night (you're far too young) here are a selection of the best snaps we snapped...
