Rosanna Rabbit Does Miss Universe...

Riiiight. We think it's about time we officially put an embargo on Rosanna Davison over frequenting red dresses folks. Come on, we all know the predictable paint-by-numbers Irish rags are gonna run with various ‘Lady in Red’ headlines the following day. Although, at Miss Universe Ireland last weekend we kinda dug her sexy scarlet Jessica Rabbit get-up. Rosie certainly has all the curves in the right places...

Rosanna Davison

Former Miss World stunna Rosanna Davison jetted back from Elton John's White Tie & Tiara Ball last weekend (fancy or wha?) to host the final of the Miss Universe Ireland contest at City West. Kinda controversial seeing that Miss World and Miss Universe are competing competitions and our Rosie has jumped-ship from one to the other. The UN should be involved.

Dawn Fitzgerald, Rosanna Davison

Looking like Jessica Rabbit minus the arm sleeves (ye gotta have the arm sleeves!), Rosanna was wearing a finely tailored low-cut Dawn Fitzgerald original dress on the night. And even though we are sick of the ensuing Lady in Red press references whenever Chris de Burgh's hot daughter wears that particular hue, we actually liked THIS red dress. It spoke to us in ways we can't really articulate folks.

Leigh Arnold, Andrea Roche

Rosanna was out at City West Hotel to host the Miss Universe Ireland 2009 contest which, has been successfully put together and run by Andrea Roche over the past few years since she quit the Miss Ireland franchise. Andrea, like Ms Davison, is a former Miss Ireland.

Michelle Heaton, Danielle Meagher

And it seemed to be a girls-only night out in west Co. Dublin with familiar lovely ladies in fancy dresses lined-up on the red carpet for our snappers. Of course we had new Irish resident Michelle Heaton and her 'Dr. Botox' buddy Danielle Meagher there and quite a few more...

Sara Kavanagh

Other guests included Sara Kavanagh, Apprentice star Jennifer Maguire, Xpose presenter Lisa Cannon, Pop band 'Industry' featuring Lee Hutton, Morgan Deane, Michele McGrath & Donal Skehan, Alan Hughes, Lisa Fitzpatrick, Elaine Crowley, Audrey McGrath, Hayley Rock, Pippa O'Connor, Ruthann Cunningham, and many more...

Jennifer Maguire

On the night, twenty-two-year-old model Diane Donelly was crowned Miss Universe Ireland 2009. She now has the task of representing her country at the 58th Miss Universe pageant to be held in the Bahamas on 23rd August...

Lisa Cannon

Lynn Kelly, the outgoing Miss Universe Ireland, crowned Diane from a selection of 21 hopefuls from across the country who valiantly vied for the coveted title.

Lee Hutton, Morgan Deane, Michele McGrath, Donal Skehan (Industry)

Although no Irish woman has ever won Miss Universe, we hope this year could see an end to that run of bad luck. We wish Diane all the best in the Bahamas come August...

Alan Hughes, Lisa Fitzpatrick

Hopefully she will 'do a Rosanna' and bring home the sparkly tiara so we can all have another night out at City West. Now that would be a knees-up to remember.

Elaine Crowley, Audrey McGrath

Well done to all concerned for putting on another great Miss Universe Ireland show...

Ruthann Cunningham

I love it when 5"3 fake tanned girls pose for photos holding a new flavour of crisps and then describe themselves as models. Its gas.

Arts girl
July 02, 2009 - 18:26

commonly a misunderstanding about rosanna. she didn't get a 1st class degree. she got a 2.1 in arts, with a 1st in one subject, sociology.

July 02, 2009 - 17:28

I love when people on here pretend they're models.......its gas !!!!!

Mel – Dublin

Rosy returned to UCD when she was still Miss World and got herself a first class honours degree and scholarship which itself is a great example to show the other girls coming up.

Ha ha ha sorry AIOFE MARY is small minded?!?!?!
whatevs.

londoner
July 02, 2009 - 15:38

Sorry, the loser here is not aoife mary. If you are going with the predictable 'You dont want to enter beauty pageants it must be because you wouldnt win them' - grow up. I have been a model with Storm (the oh so wonderful rosanna's uk agency) for 5 years now. NOBODY in any decent modelling agency would be seen dead doing pageants. Its provinicial, tacky and for wannabe glamour models.

There, rant over. All of you go back to choosing tacky anklets to compliment your chavvy butterfly tattoos on your feet.

Aoife Mary is a raging feminist
July 02, 2009 - 15:12

Why do you spend so much of your time on a site which represents everything you hate then Aoife Mary? Could this not be regarded as a dysfunctional use of your time where you could be organising some burn the bra rallies? Or are you trying to recruit more people to join your small minded views which you enjoy ramming down peoples throats?

Hello – Toytown
July 02, 2009 - 14:53

I'm with Aoife Mary, these girls are pathetic loosers

Lovely – Dublin
July 02, 2009 - 14:35

Dear Mr. Showbiz,

Please put up a new batch of press call photos - Give these idiots someone else to verbally poop on. This whole conversation is OLD!!

Aoife Mary – Dublin
July 02, 2009 - 14:34

Yes there are "other opinions out there" - and I'm entitled to mine!

I am a feminist - look it up, it means equality for men and women. You don't have to be a laser beam or ugly to believe in it, either - that's just a bigot's motto. You think I'm pathetic, I think you're pathetic, let's just leave it at that.

Aoife Mary needs to get a life
July 02, 2009 - 13:41

Aoife Mary is more like a chick with a d*ck. A complete muff diving feminist id imagine, with big hairy legs and a tash. Shes incapable of opening up her mind to accept that there are other opinions out there different to her own. She cracks herself up with her 'witty sarcasm', but cant see the irony that it is her with the small mind and ignorance, not models! Now wait for the comeback fueled with aggression and or sarcasm....

comp
July 02, 2009 - 13:39

Aoife Mary, you are one seriously bitter and angry girl! stop spending your time putting people down and concentrate on making something of your own life, as it obviously does not amount to much if you are spending so much time on this site passing comments on someone and something you obviously know nothing about...

Creep
July 02, 2009 - 13:30

Aoife Mary...ur obviously a "dont call me a chick" chick ye ??
Dont be such a loser, nothin wrong with good lookin girls wantin to be admired !! Im sure Diana will now go on to make a lot of money through modelling and she also gets a nice 4 week holiday in the bahamas......

frodo
July 02, 2009 - 13:04

Coming from one of the judges to the competition this year, they confirmed that it is fixed and that Andrea wanted Diana to win from day one. No matter what the other judges opinions were on who should win even their say was not counted. This is one competition that is truly fixed and unfair, and alot of girls are getting their dreams slashed because of it. Half the girls are promised the world to enter it and do not stand a chance.

Aoife Mary – Dublin
July 02, 2009 - 12:27

I'm not suggesting Rosie D founded the Miss Ireland competition, she just made it socially acceptable to openly seek out adulation/crowns/sashes by parading around like a piece of meat. I don't detest the girls who have nothing else going for them-if they think this may be their big break,&are otherwise destined to work in Tesco all their days, I can understand why they might do it. But I cannot comprehend someone with a good education&money actually choosing to demean themselves like this. It should be a last ditch thing- before porn and prostitution.&don't even get me started on Clare Tully.

hannah – dublin
July 02, 2009 - 11:57

Aoife Mary, it's unfair to blame Rosy for starting it- what about all the Miss Ireland's that did well before her- Pamela Flood, Andrea Roche, Amanda Brunker. Girls enter in the hope that it will bring career opportunities & that's fair enough. It's unfair however that the compo is fixed as punters go in there blindfolded thanks to stupid odds that mean nothing becuase it's a fix.
Rosy looks beautiful here, melons and all.

Aoife Mary – Dublin
July 02, 2009 - 11:43

Hannah I may KNOW a few entrants - that sure as hell doesn't mean I like them. They are uniformly vacuous, vain, silly, superficial airheads who imagine that being Miss Tesco Baldoyle makes them something special and more attractive than all other girls who have the self-respect and depth of character to seek out achievement in things other than a sash and f***ing crown. I HATE that this is somehow respectable in Ireland - as I've said before I blame Rosie D for starting it. People used to be appropriately embarrassed about entering these cattle shows. I'm embarrassed for them.

hannah – dublin
July 02, 2009 - 10:54

Everyone that knows anyone that has entered Miss Ireland in the past (and come on, we all know a few entrants), knows that it's a fix. The winner is picked ages before. Diana is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but if the compo was fair & square it would be a public vote or something like that- not a judging panel that are the same faces on the scene and know the Miss Ireland owners! Typical Irish competition, so unfair. Girls should know not to enter it at this stage! WARNING: DO NOT ENTER FIXED MISS IRELAND COMPO!!!!

dublin
July 01, 2009 - 22:45

miss??? you were obviously in the competition and extremely bitter that you did not win and are resorting to putting Diana down. Putting someone down wont get you that crown so get over it!

randomer
July 01, 2009 - 20:01

Miss? stop getting so hung up on the odds! Anyone can request to put odds on a person who doesnt already have odds! Thus if the odds were on you to win, you could have had family and friends looking to put odds on you months back before odds were even being taken. The girl who has the most interest in her will probably come out with the highest odds to begin with. Get with it! Everyone there knew Diana would win. You could also tell that Rozanna would be up there. So dry those tears my dear.

Aoife Mary – Dublin
July 01, 2009 - 19:43

Miss ???? - you are an absolute gobsh!te. It's a beauty pageant you pathetic excuse for a woman. Do you think beauty pageants are a wholly objective indicator of the most attractive women in the country? The majority of us aren't stuck in the fifties and actually have some self-respect rather than needing a f***ing sash to feel whole, "Ooh look at me, admire me everybody, I love myself, me me beautiful me". Diana is actually gorgeous. But in any case who gives a sh!te? What a thing to be bitter about. This vain, shallow crap really gets my goat.

What are your thoughts, Emma Quinlan A1?

July 01, 2009 - 14:15

Miss ??? Im sorry things did not turn out the way you had hoped them to and I hope you can move on from it. As an insider let me just tell you that odds have nothing to do with it. Diana was set to win it before the competition began.

Dublin
July 01, 2009 - 14:05

Miss??? do your research, Diana was a late entrant into the competition so she did not have much publicity prior to the bets being released and as a result she featured 5th or 6th on the list! miss??? why do you seem to care so much, you really need to find something better to do with your life than trying to belittle a beautiful, smart and decent young girl that has achieved something.

Miss ?????
July 01, 2009 - 12:12

Randomer, Im well aware how odds work but seein as you cant make any bets before odds are released i dont see ur point. When the odds were first released paddypower or boylesports released a statement sayin "Hayley Ryan is the clear favourite as she's obviously the best looking in the comp" or something to that effect and Diana was down in 5th or 6th place.

Herpes goes bananas
July 01, 2009 - 00:50

Alan Hughes looks like he has been eating the lucky charms as he does his floating leprechaun trick beside Lisa Fitzpatrick. Or maybe he's a dummy and that explains how his feet start at her knees!! Where is her hand though? Judging from his tie I can guess where he's like it to be!! All the way to the elbow!!!

randomer
June 30, 2009 - 23:05

Miss ??? go and do some research on how odds are created. Diane being 5th or 6th meant that she didnt have as many friends/ family members putting money down on her as some of the other girls did (i.e. probably you). Again, the girl stood out a mile from the others on the night, odds or no odds. Dont take it too personally.

@sarah - From what I have heard and seen Wes the Roide and Rosanna are back on.

Not the strongest of arguments is it? In UCC they call it gommerce as any gom can do it. That said, let's give the girl a chance to prove herself.

I love the way you can see the outline of the silicone sack of Rosanna's new tits. What I wouldn't give to motorboat those rock hard mammaries! Ouch!

June 30, 2009 - 16:15

Look at those lovelies popping out of Rosie's frock! Ah, to snuggle up next to those at night and dream of better days. I have a pearl necklace for Ireland's crown princess.

Aoife Mary – Dublin
June 30, 2009 - 15:41

When I look at Rosanna's boobs my eyes go funny, it's like looking at one of those "magic eye" books...

Random you clearly haven't seen Rosanna Davison's AMAZING title-clinching interview. Nobody cares what these birds say or how they say it, it is a tits andarsecompetition, end of.

PS Londoner, I second every word. If you are a man, please marry me.

randomer
June 30, 2009 - 15:35

MUI is of course fixed beforehand. The competition has nothing to do with brains and is purely looks based. Diana was without a doubt the most beautiful woman competing, and won it fairly based on this. Her 'Ta me go maith' moment was awkward for everyone in the room, and proved that if the competition was down to interview skills/ talent, she would not have succeeded to the next round. The rose of tralee is a competition for interview skills and talent, not MUI.

londoner

ireland is the only non-third-world country that actually takes beauty pageants seriously

Random, Diana is a beautiful, genuine and very intelligent girl (she has a degree in commerce) and she obviously just got a bit of stage fright on the night, happens to the best of us. I know the girl can speak fluent in spanish and irish so it was just down to the emotions running high on the night and nerves. I saw her on tv3 on monday morning when she was interviewed. She was very composed and articulate and i was very proud that she would be representing us in the Bahamas. I wish Diana all the best of luck, if anyone can win it for us, Diana Donnelly can!

Random – Citywest
June 30, 2009 - 13:39

...cont'd.......The interview is a massive part of the competetion, its supposed to seperate the winner from the other contestants in the top 5 and her if bein able to say ta me go maith won it for her then the other contestants obviously never had a chance and so maybe the winner had already been picked before the thing even started which is a little unfair.

Random
June 30, 2009 - 13:37

Lovely, you obviously know Diana or know someone who knows her if you met her on one or two occassions. Don't get me wrong though, she seems like a lovely girl and is obviously amazing looking but seriously she said she was fluent in spanish and Irish but couldnt say one word in Spanish and all she could say in Irish was Ta me go maith......

G-Boy – D4
June 30, 2009 - 12:53

That "big hollywood" movie Rosie is supposedly in is the sequel to Roger Rabbit. Jessica Rabbit comes to life, trades her long ears for a pair of breasts and goes to Krystle. Happily ever after!

Lovely – Dublin
June 30, 2009 - 12:48

Random - you were obviously in the competition or had a close friend in the comp. Interview was one very small part of a series of tests for the ladies. I met Diana on one or two occaisions. She is beyond gorgeous. Professioal & obviously won it for a reason. She is our best hope yet at winning Ms. Universe. Bitterness is so very unattractive.

Random – Citywest

Diana DID NOT deserve to win at all. She messed up her interview and wasn't even the nicest looking girl there !!
