Bertie to allow US to fuel in Shannon...

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, whose daughter is living with Nicky from Westlife, told ShowBizIreland.com, that he will allow Shannon Airport to be use by the US army to refuel on there way to the Middle East.

"I was in between a meeting with Sinn Fein which has just finished and about to enter a meeting with Ambassador Hass from America when I heard the news in New York. I can tell you that 'Yes' I will be letting the Americans re-fuel in Shannon if they ask. We did it back during the Gulf War and it is part of the Security Council agreement. So, yes Ireland will be allowing them to refuel here."

The Taoiseach was speaking at the re-launch of the new and improved Dublinia tour in Christchurch, which he originally gave the money to set up eight years ago when he was the Minister for Finance according to Paddy Duffy, the Taoiseach's former advisor who was attending the re-opening with him.

Sources close to the Taoiseach have also confirmed that he was now planning to dissolve the Government on the first week of May next year and calling a general election.
