Oasis price Ireland's football tune...

Oasis singer/songwriter Noel Gallagher has agreed to write a song for the Irish football team for a price.

The singer who was partly raised in Ireland as both his parents are Irish has said he will write a song for the Irish team but will charge the Football Association of Ireland half a million pounds for the song.

The subject came up as Noel (who has written songs such as Wonderwall) was asked if he would write a song for the England team. "Absolutely not. If we do anything it will be for the Republic of Ireland. If anyone is listening to this from the Irish FA, half a million quid and we'll do it for you."

The Irish FAI have said they are interested in a song but not at those prices...
