Westlife's Bryan is So Solid at the Brits...

Westlife were the toast of the Brit Awards on Wednesday night, but our Bryan didn't quite see eye-to-eye with So Solid Crew.

Westlife won the Best Pop Act for the second year in a row at the ceremony and all seemed cheery for the Irish group until a row broke out.

Apparently some words were exchanged between Bryan McFadden and the entourage of So Solid Crew, and some debris began to fly. A spokesperson said: "Some bottles were thrown but security moved in quickly and calmed the situation."

The public voting phone lines were inundated with calls from thousands of fans to secure the award for the Westlife boys.

Shane Filan told the Irish press: "It's a great honour for us and we want to thank all the fans - now it's time to party. We've worked hard on our new album and it's been a big success so honours like this are great. This means so much to us because the fans took the time to vote. We were up against some tough competition".

And tough competition it was too, with the likes of S Club 7 and Kylie pitched against the Irish lads.

Thanks to their chart topping album, World Of Our Own, they secured the coveted Brit Award.

"We are going to celebrate in style with a few glasses of bubbly", said a delighted Kian Egan. "We always set aside the Brit Awards night for a big celebration - and we keep the following morning free too. There will be a few hangovers around", he added.

A few hangovers indeed! We expect the boys will still be celebrating when they get back to Dublin tonight.
