Westlife's Shane engaged to be married?...

It has emerged that Shane, the lead singer with the Irish boyband Westlife is hiding a big secret. A long-term girlfriend. The singer who is a pin up to thousands of girls world-wide was caught in Dublin with his girlfriend Gillian of 6 years leaving a top city centre hotel after a romantic weekend.

Shane's weekend also got him into trouble as the rest of the band were performing and he had told them he had the flu and would join them later.

The couple are reportedly also engaged to be married according to reports in the Irish press. This may come as a shock to everyone including the band's manager Louis Walsh who has banned the group from having girlfriends.

That is all the band except for Nicky Byrne who is dating the Irish Prime Minister's daughter.

Speaking to ShowbizIreland.com Louis Walsh said nothing of the relationship but did say that the band are recording a song with the Irish classical singers The Vard Sisters.

"We are about to do a single with Wendy Vard and the girls. A bit classical and a bit funky. It will be called 'If I had words' and it looks set to be a big hit."
