The Corrs & Ali meet Chernobyl Children...

ShowBizIreland.com joined the Irish supergroup The Corrs yesterday, along with Bono's wife Ali Hewson, to campaign against the Sellafield nuclear plant in the UK.

Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr joined Ali to lend their support to the Shut Sellafield postcard campaign. And deliver postcards to the Mater Hospital for patients who have been unable to receive postcards.

They met 6 year old Alexei and 7 year old Raisa from Chernobyl with Dr. Michael Early who has performed life changing operations on both children.

Earlier this month Ali Hewson launched a nationwide campaign to send postcards to Tony Blair, Prince Charles, and Norman Askew requesting that Sellafield be closed.

Every household in Ireland has been sent a prepaid postcard to Tony Blair and all are being urged to sign the card and post between now and the 19th April.

Extra cards are on sale for €1 in local post offices, Superquinn, Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Centra, Champion Sports, Marathon Sports and Nude Food, the profits from the sale of these cards will go to the Chernobyl Children's Project.

The cards will all be delivered Friday 26th April, which is the 16th Anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.
